Ben is a classically trained composer and clarinettist, educated at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where he won the Gareth Neame Scholarship for Composition.
His path into film began as a performer, appearing on screen in Roman Polanski's The Pianist. A later collaboration with composer Henning Lohner led to commissions for the BBC and Netflix.
A connection made through music education introduced him to Kate Winslet — a relationship that led to his debut feature score for Goodbye June.
Beyond the screen, Ben scored the app Sleepworlds, featuring the voice of Hayley Atwell, and performs with his ensemble ZRI alongside the Västerås Symphony Orchestra and the Britten Sinfonia.
"Ben has a level of profound empathy that lent itself so completely to the emotional balance of Goodbye June. His ability to pre-empt what I might need was invaluable — I have to say that I would at times have been lost without him."
Kate Winslet CBEDirector, Goodbye June
